Simply put, Bringing Lethbridge Home is the strategic plan to end homelessness through housing first in the city of Lethbridge by 2014.

This plan has been carefully designed by Social Housing in Action (SHIA).  SHIA is the community-based organization dedicated to ending homelessness through a Housing First strategy. SHIA represents a healthy cross-section of community leaders and organizations that include the general public, representatives of social service agencies, government, and various organizations including people of aboriginal ancestry.

According to the Homeless Census 2011 conducted by SHIA, it is painfully clear that homelessness is one of the most critical social and economic issues facing our community.  But it doesn’t have to be.  That’s why SHIA is building partnerships, initiatives and strategies to literally bring the ‘right’ homes and the 'right' supports to the hundreds of individuals and families whose circumstances have forced them to live without the right affordable and safe shelter in Lethbridge.

Bringing Lethbridge Home represents a profound change in the way we address homelessness in our community.  Rather than moving the people experiencing homelessness from service to service and back to the street, Bringing Lethbridge Home is focused on providing ourtreach and support services for people to access safe and affordable housing.  This change in focus lies at the heart of Bringing Lethbridge Home and is the key to ending homelessness in our community. 

The time has come to Bring Lethbridge Home.
