Transition Homes
Transitional housing programs assist people who are ready to move beyond emergency shelter into a more independent living situation but with support systems to transition to a new lifestyle. In conjunction with access to the right kind of support, transition homes allow individuals and families to develop:
- stability
- confidence
- coping skills
- life skills
Each of these is integral to achieving and sustaining permanent housing.
Services provided at the Native Women’s Transition Home
- transitional housing for 8 families consisting of women and children
- in-house support
- counselling (in-house or in the community)
- counselling (contemporary or traditional)
- training provided for house keeping, budgeting, food preparation, food handling etc.
- rents based on Provincial Social Service Rates

Services provided at Parkside Step Up:
- 16 Room recovery house
- internet and telephone access
- evening mobile food and ministry service
- church service Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
- assessment and referral to other community
- services
