Bringing Lethbridge Home is a strategic plan to end homelessness in Lethbridge by 2011. Homelessness is one of the most critical issues facing our community, so this might appear to be a bold, even unrealistic plan. But it isn't. We believe that by offering the "right housing" with the "right supports", homelessness can become a thing of the past. That’s why we’re building partnerships, initiatives and strategies to literally bring homes to the hundreds of individuals and families whose circumstances have forced them to live without adequate, safe and affordable housing in Lethbridge.

Homelessness is often a product of personal problems combined with cracks in the social safety net. Our overflowing shelters tell this story time and again. But the fact that the emergency shelters and stop-gap solutions can no longer stem the tide tells us that, really, the face of homelessness has changed, impacting hard on families and people who work hard but just can’t afford housing. Bringing Lethbridge Home addresses a fundamental root of homelessness: poverty and the lack of affordable housing. By building a vital link between emergency/transitional housing system, appropriate support services and safe, affordable housing, we plan to help people get back into the right housing, into communities and permanently out of the crisis of homelessness.
